Jane Turtle: Behavioural Support Specialist

Jane is involved in developing behavioural support programmes for people who display challenging behaviour.

Jane Turtle, our Behavioural Support Specialist, has a BSc Hons degree in Intellectual and Developmental Disability.

Jane studied at the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent and completed the course in only two years. Thanks to her skills, Jane is involved in developing behavioural support programmes for people who display challenging behaviours.

By using a positive behaviour support approach, comprehensive assessments are carried out. They include functional assessments to determine the function of inappropriate behaviours, medical assessments, communication assessments and mental health assessments. The information is gathered and used to develop support plans for our clients and tenants so staff and families can support them in a more effective way.

Jane also trains our staff in Person-Centred Active Support and Communication to give them a better understanding of how to work with the clients and tenants we provide a service for.
